On Tuesday, at Arizona’s Port of Nogales was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers for attempting to smuggle fentanyl into the United States Tuesday, worth more than $15,000.
CBP officers at the Dennis DeConcini Pedestrian crossing lanes referred a 49-year-old man for further inspection Tuesday morning. After a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to a scent it was trained to detect, officers removed two packages that were taped around the subject’s inner thighs. The drugs weighed just more than a pound, with an estimated value of more than $15,000.
Officers seized the drugs, while the subject was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
