At approximately 8:40 a.m. on Thursday, October, 11, a private climber attempting to summit Mt. Hood located the body of missing hiker David Yaghmourian at approximately the 8,300-foot elevation on the mountain, about a half-mile east of Silcox Hut.
David Lee Yaghmourian was a 30-year-old graduate student from Glendale, Arizona.
The search mission began on Oct. 8, 2018 at about 5 p.m. At that point, Mr. Yaghmourian’s hiking partner had been out of contact for about nine hours with Mr. Yaghmourian.
