A U.S. citizen is in custody after being arrested for attempting to smuggle three illegal aliens, one of who was previously deported.
Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested the a 30-year-old Yuma man after he attempted to smuggle three Mexican nationals aliens around the Interstate 8 Immigration Checkpoint on Saturday.
At approximately 7:10 a.m., agents conducted a vehicle stop on a silver Ford F-150 after the citizen left Highway 95 and traveled through Dome Valley in an attempt to circumvent the Interstate 8 Immigration Checkpoint.
One of the illegal aliens had been previously removed three times with a felony conviction for forgery in the state of Iowa. The male subjects range in age from 19 years old to 35 years old.
