On Tuesday morning, a 19-year-old male was arrested by Nogales Border Patrol agents after finding a Mexican national concealed in the trunk of his vehicle at the Interstate 19 Immigration Checkpoint.
The U.S. citizen and Glendale resident was referred for a secondary inspection of his Nissan Sentra by agents working the primary inspection lane.
When agents opened the vehicle’s trunk, they discovered a 36-year-old man locked inside.
Agents arrested the driver for human smuggling and seized the vehicle. The Mexican national was processed for immigration violations.
