SIERRA VISTA — A 36-year-old Sierra Vista man wanted for multiple felonies was arrested by a task force of several law enforcement agencies, after he was found barricaded in his sister’s attic Friday on the city’s northwest side.

Ryan Mellor had warrants for charges including trafficking in stolen property, forgery, and identify theft  and possession of drugs in Cochise County, as well as a child support warrant in Gila County.

Mellor was booked into the Cochise County Jail, where  new charges were filed of resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a narcotic drug and possession of a dangerous drug, said a Sierra Vista Police Department release.

Mellor’s sister, 38-year-old  Danielle Mellor, was also arrested. She was booked into the jail on charges of child abuse and hindering prosecution in the first degree.

Sierra Vista Police Department detectives, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Team  and agents from  Homeland Security Investigations, tried to make contact with Mellor at his sister’s residence in the 500 block of North Avenue at about 11 a.m. Friday, the police statement said.
