Vladimir Acuna has been arrested after the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office completed a one-month investigation of fentanyl being sold in the San Tan Valley area. A 19 year-old suspect, Jesse Mota of Gilbert, was with Acuna when he was arrested.

Deputies found small bags of marijuana that were individually-packaged to be sold on Mota. Acuna had almost $5,000.00 on him when he was taken into custody.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, their Investigators learned the 42-year-old Acuna was selling fentanyl pills to his clients that he would meet in the parking lot of local businesses.

“This is the second fentanyl dealer our Narcotics detectives have arrested in about a month,” said Sheriff Mark Lamb. “The opioid epidemic is a huge priority for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. We are going after these dealers because drugs are killing people in our community and communities across our nation.”

Mota is being charged with possession of marijuana and possession for sale of marijuana. Acuna is facing charges of possession for sale of narcotic drugs and transportation for the sale of narcotic drugs.
