Law Enforcement Partnership Commissioner Garcia claims cops are ‘Quick to use bombs’

GARCIA WANTS COUNTY TO INVESTIGATE BANKS

Isabel Garcia’s bizarre rant, during a meeting of the Community Law Enforcement Partnership Commission meeting, might have been the last straw for Pima County supervisors Ally Miller and Steve Christy. On Tuesday Miller and Christy pulled their appointees to the commission.

Garcia serves on the commission, which was created one year ago.

In a frantic diatribe during Monday’s meeting, Garcia, who earned national attention when she paraded around with the head of an effigy of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio on a stick, stated that law enforcement officers are “quick to use those bombs. Bombs!”

Garcia a former public defender, stated that she regretted approving a grant at the last meeting because it provide funding for officers’ ear protection. She implied that the officers needed the protection because they use bombs. Presumably Garcia was referring to percussion bombs.

Struggling to get her words out at times, Garcia demanded that local law enforcement agencies investigate banks rather than the “little people.”

Stunned by Garcia’s rant, commissioners remained silent for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, Commissioner Terry Parish explained to Garcia that banks are under the purview of federal authorities and the FBI would be the appropriate agency to investigate their role in an illegal enterprise.

The commission has attempted to function without a clear scope and purpose for the last several months, according to Miller and Christy, and “has been unable to serve the needs of the community while providing anti-law enforcement community activists a taxpayer-funded soapbox.”
