Registered sex offender busted for offering cash for sex with children

TEMPE —  Kenneth Edward Nelson, 41, was arrested at his New River home at about noon Thursday after he allegedly offered to pay a 14-year-old girl $500 for a sexual encounter with her.

Nelson, a registered sex offender, also attempted to have sexual contact with children from infancy to 10 years old. He allegedly agreed to pay more money for sex with those children, said a law enforcement news release.

He is being held in jail on charges of  attempted child sex trafficking and attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

The investigation is ongoing, in order to determine if Nelson will face additional charges.
