Former Student Brought Gun to Canyon del Oro High School

Oro Valley – Oro Valley Police Department personnel responded to a report from Canyon del Oro High School administrators about a student who had flashed a gun on campus on April 11, 2019 at approximately 3:30 p.m.

According to the Oro Valley Police Department, while the majority of students had left for the day, there were still many students and faculty onsite. Canyon del Oro High School (CDO) administration initiated a school lockdown. Oro Valley Police officers responded and began searching the school in case the suspect was still on site.

The suspect has been identified as a former CDO student under the age of 18.
