Phoenix Attorney Strojnik Disbarred For ADA Lawsuits

PHOENIX – Phoenix attorney Peter Strojnik has been disbarred from the practice of law in Arizona as a result of a complaint filed by the State Bar of Arizona.

The Bar filed a formal complaint against Strojnik alleging he filed numerous lawsuits against small businesses claiming minor violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Arizonans with Disabilities Act (AzDA) in both state and federal courts. The Bar alleged that many of the lawsuits filed had no basis in law and fact, were non-meritorious, and contained requests for attorneys’ fees in excess of those which had been incurred.

On May 8, 2019, Strojnik and the State Bar filed a Consent to Disbarment with the Presiding Disciplinary Judge. He acknowledged that a formal complaint had been made against him and that he read the charges made against him. Strojnik also acknowledged that he did not want to contest or defend against the charges, but rather consented to disbarment.

Strojnik’s disbarment was effective May 10, 2019. He was ordered to immediately comply with the requirements of Rule 72, Ariz. R. Sup. Ct., which includes notification of clients and others and filing all notices and affidavits required by the Rule.

Strojnik was also ordered to pay costs and expenses as approved by the Presiding Disciplinary Judge.
