San Tan Valley Man Caught On Camera Breaking Into Johnson Ranch Neighborhood Vehicles

A San Tan Valley man, 23-year-old Christopher Rios, is in custody after he was caught on camera attempting to break into vehicles in the Johnson Ranch neighborhood.

At around 3:00 a.m., on September 18, 2019, Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies received information about Rios’activities. When they located him and attempted to take him into custody, he became combative and resisted arrest.

Rios had 2 stolen wallets, numerous credit cards not in his name, as well as a stolen expandable baton and folding knife in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Deputies believe that Rios was checking for unlocked vehicles looking for credit cards and weapons.

“Christopher Rios was looking for easy targets where he could get in and out without anyone noticing,” said Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb. “Please don’t leave valuables, especially weapons, inside your vehicle. Just locking your vehicle will prevent you from being an easy target.”

Christopher Rios was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center and is being charged with three counts of burglary in the third degree, theft, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on a peace officer.
