Cochise County Woman Safe, Sent Kidnapping Text While “Consuming Alcohol”

TUCSON – Dana Lynn Welch was found safe and well at her home Monday night according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office. On November 24, the Sheriff’s Office asked the public for information regarding the welfare of the 48 year old Welch.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday November 21, 2019 at approximately 8:25 p.m. they were asked to conduct a welfare check on Ms. Welch. The reporting person told the Sheriff’s Office that he had received a text message from Ms. Welch that said she was being abused, held hostage, and forced to take drugs.

The Sheriff’s Office has determined that she was not a victim of any crime and the kidnapping statements were sent by her to a friend after consumption of alcohol.
