Previously Deported Child Molester Apprehended By Border Patrol Near Nogales

TUCSON – On Wednesday, U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a previously deported child molester, Curicaberi Aguirre Gomez, near Nogales.

The 49-year-old Aguirre Gomez was apprehended around 4:20 p.m. by Tucson Sector agents patrolling the desert near the Mexico-U.S. border.

Agents discovered through a records checks that Aguirre Gomez, a Mexican national illegally present in the United States, was convicted of lewd act upon a child under 14 years of age by Orange County, California, in 2006. He was sentenced to three years in jail.

As a previously deported aggravated felon, Aguirre Gomez faces federal prosecution for immigration violations.
