TUCSON – In 1985, Santiago Villarreal-Balderrama was convicted of manslaughter in Maricopa County, and sentenced to five years of confinement. This week, he was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents after he illegally entered the country again.
U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested, Villarreal-Balderrama, near Nogales on Thursday morning.
In Fiscal Year 2019, Tucson Sector agents arrested 195 illegal aliens with significant criminal histories.
Tucson Sector agents apprehended the 55-year-old Villarreal-Balderrama, a citizen of Mexico, has been removed from the United States multiple times since his 1985 arrest.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Villarreal-Balderrama, will face federal prosecution for immigration violations.
