17-Year-Old Arrested For Deaths Of Mexican Men Killed Fleeing Border Patrol

TUCSON – A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with the deaths of Mexican citizens 37-year-old Constantino Bautista Cruz and 28–year-old Efrain Medrano-Morales. The men were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Arivaca-Sasabe Road while fleeing from Border Patrol.

According to the Pima County Sheriffs Office (PCSO), deputies responded to Arivaca – Sasabe Road for a report of a single-vehicle collision with multiple injuries. The United States Border Patrol agents reported that they attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle which failed to stop and crashed shortly after that. Two occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead on the scene and three other occupants were transported to a local area hospital.

The unidentified 17-year-old was arrested for 2 counts of 1st degree murder, 2 counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage, unlawful flight from law enforcement, and DUI.
