PIMA COUNTY – An inmate in the Pima County Jail, 50-year-old Todd Ash, has died after he was found unresponsive by corrections officers on February 10, 2020 at approximately 7:00 a.m.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, corrections officers were alerted to Ash’s cell where they found him unresponsive. Corrections officers immediately began administering emergency life saving measures while they waited for Tucson Fire Department personnel to arrive.
Tucson Fire Department personnel were able to resuscitate Ash, and transport him to a local area hospital. Ash was stabilized upon arrival to the hospital, but his condition deteriorated and he subsequently died on the evening of February 11th, 2020.
The death is being investigated by Pima County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
