Parents Nabbed With Fentanyl, Baby Onboard

COTTONWOOD – Parents of a 2-year-old were arrested on the evening of Saturday, February 15, after a Cottonwood Police officer conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation.

According to Cottonwood Police, the officer requested a K9 which alerted to 48 fentanyl pills under the seat of the passenger, 25-year-old Raymond Rudy Newhall of Clarkdale.

Officers also found “paraphernalia consistent with ingesting the pills – burnt aluminum foil in addition to an empty pen case and straw cut and modified into snort/inhalation tubes.”

Newhall was arrested for possession of narcotic drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The driver, 25-year-old Sedona resident, Dallas Kristine Cordova was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The couple’s 2-year-old son was turned over to family and the Department of Child Safety was contacted.

Raymond Newhall was booked into the Yavapai County Detention Center for possession of narcotic drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dallas Cordova was cited and released.
