Sierra Vista Mom Arrested, Charged With Extreme DUI After Hitting Motorcyclist

Sierra Vista – A Sierra Vista resident, Leslie Munsey, was arrested this week and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated DUI after she rear-ended a motorcycle.

Munsey was traveling northbound on Highway 92 in a Kia four-door sedan and rear-ended 21-year-old Sierra Vista resident Teresa Fast who was stopped at the Highway 90 Bypass and Highway 92 traffic signal at about 7:10 p.m. on Feb. 13.

Ms. Fast suffered severe injuries and was flown to Tucson for medical care after initial transport to Canyon Vista Medical Center. According to Sierra Vista Police, due to the potentially life-threatening nature of Fast’s injuries.

Authorities waited until Ms. Fast’s condition stabilized to file charges against Munsey. Ms. Fast is now in stable condition, which resulted in lesser charges being filed against Munsey.

Munsey was charged with multiple felonies to include two counts of aggravated assault and aggravated DUI. The aggravated DUI charge stems from Munsey having a child under the age of 15 in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Munsey’s blood alcohol content was 0.115. Neither Munsey nor the child in her vehicle were injured in the collision.

Munsey’s misdemeanor charges include DUI and open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
