PHOENIX – As of Saturday afternoon, Arizona health officials have reported 773 cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths in the state. There are over 452 cases in Maricopa County alone.

Gila County health officials reported their first case on Friday. The case involves a Payson woman in her 40s. The case appears to be travel-related; with no evidence of community spread at this time.
According to officials, the threat to the Gila County community “appears to be low as the patient has predominantly self-isolated since the beginning of symptoms.”
Gila County public health disease investigators are currently investigating the case and close contacts.
