PHOENIX – Across Arizona, law enforcement officers, friends, family and members of the public will participate a virtual moment of silence to honor the life and sacrifice of Phoenix Police Commander Greg Carnicle.

Commander Carnicle was shot and killed on Sunday March 29, by a suspect in a domestic disturbance call. Officer Alicia Hubert and Officer Marissa Dowhan were also injured in the shooting.

The COVID-19 community health crisis is preventing immediate memorial services to honor Commander Greg Carnicle. His immediate family will hold a small funeral mass on Tuesday April 7, with a full police memorial service planned once restrictions are lifted on large gatherings.

To allow the community to come together virtually, the department will be hosting a virtual moment of silence to be held on the Department’s Facebook page on Tuesday April 7 at Noon.
