Maricopa County Man Accused Of Torturing 2 Children With Pliers, Taser, Belt

PHOENIX – A man accused of abusing children, Angel Andrew Coronado, has been arrested by detectives with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Tactical Enforcement. Phoenix Police allege that the 36-year-old Coronado abused an 11-year-old and 13-year-old using a belt, Taser, and pliers.

Coronado was arrested on April 8, near 35th Avenue and is being charged with eleven counts of child abuse and being held on a $300,000 bond.

Cassandra Ledesma, the biological mother and girlfriend of suspect Coronado was also arrested and charged with 2 counts of child abuse. Ledesma and Coronado have two younger children in common.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, between August 2017 and September 2017 Coronado allegedly physically abused and tortured his girlfriend’s 11 and 13-year-old children. This included hitting the children with his fist, a belt, using a taser on them and methods of suffocation.
