YUMA – Tristen Hays, age 20, of Lake Side, California, has been identified as the victim of a fatal boating accident that occurred on Saturday, April 25, 2020. According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, they received a report of a collision involving a boat and jet ski on the Colorado River, north of Martinez Lake at approximately 3:34 p.m.
The initial investigation revealed that a boat and jet ski were travelling south along the river parallel to each other, according to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office. For unknown reasons, the jet ski, operated by Tristan, turned into the path of the boat and collided with it.
It is currently unknown if alcohol was a contributing factor in this collision.
