Two Children Die In Mohave County House Fire

Mohave County – On Wednesday at approximately 12:25 a.m., Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a fire of a residence in the 4800 block of N. Elgin Rd. in Golden Valley. Three adults and five children were inside the residence when the fire began.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), two female children, ages 4 and 11, were located deceased inside the residence after the fire was extinguished.

Three adults, the mother, father, and a male roommate, and one child were transported to a Las Vegas hospital and are in critical condition. Another child was hospitalized for observation with no injuries, and the remaining child involved escaped the fire with no injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Neighbors in the area reported hearing gunshots at the time of the fire, however it was determined to be items exploding inside the residence. The investigation is ongoing, according to MCSO.
