Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams Marches With Protesters

Phoenix Police officers and Chief Williams join peaceful protesters on Friday.

PHOENIX – Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams on Friday joined a group of about 1,000 peaceful protesters marching in downtown Phoenix.

The Chief called on protesters to work with the police on the desired changes.

“We hear you. We can’t do this alone. We’ve got to do this together. If walking out in 106 degrees with y’all means we are going to work together, then are we going to work together. We’re going to work together to make change. We’re going to work together on the killings,” but said Williams, “I’m going to need you guys to give us some time.”

The crowd began clearing the area prior to the 8:00 p.m. curfew imposed by Governor Doug Ducey.
