Man Arrested For Hunting His Girlfriend, Killing Her In Tucson Motel

The Tucson Police Department have arrested a suspect, Keith Larone Colbert, in the shooting death of 25-year-old Rachel Lena Sheridan.

According to the Tucson Police Department, on June 7, 2020, just after 11:30 a.m., Tucson Police officers and members of the Tucson Fire Department were dispatched to the Days Inn hotel located at 1440 South Craycroft Road for a report of a shooting. When they arrived they found Ms. Sheridan inside a hotel room suffering from obvious gunshot trauma. Ms. Sheridan was transported the victim to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives learned that Ms. Sheridan was in a domestic violence relationship with the 46-year-old Colbert. Ms. Sheridan was at the hotel hiding from Colbert when he forced his way into her room and shot her. Mr. Colbert fled the scene after the shooting. There were several witnesses in the area that observed the incident when it occurred.

On June 8, 2020, officers located Mr. Colbert at America’s Best Value Inn located at 810 East Benson Highway and he was detained without incident. Colbert was then charged with Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, and Prohibited Possession of a Firearm. Colbert was booked into Pima County Jail.

On June 10, 2020, Ms. Sheridan had passed away from her injuries. 1st Degree Murder charges are pending.
