On Wednesday, the FBI announced that it is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the deaths of Matthew and Philip Reagan.

According to a press release from the Apache County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew Reagan, age 39, and Philip Reagan, age 29, were found shot to death on Navajo Route 7 about two and one-half miles west of the Sawmill Express Store in late March 2020.

Navajo Nation Police called the Apache County Sheriff, who arrived as tribal police secured the scene.

“Based on a preliminary investigation, both (men) were traveling in a black Ford SUV that had been found stuck in the mud just off Navajo Route 7, approximately 1/2 mile away from where both Matthew and Phillip Reagan were found. It has been determined they were attempting to travel to Canyon de Chelly National Monument, in Chinle,” the press release stated.

A Gofundme page was set-up to assist Matthew Reagan’s family:

Please support Matthew Reagan’s family during this difficult time. All donations will be given directly to his wife. Matt was a co-worker and a good friend. He was traveling to California to help his brother move, and they decided to stop to see Canyon de Chelly in Arizona. Their SUV got stuck in the mud and they began walking to get help. Evidently, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time as they were found shot to death about 1/2 mile from the vehicle. Matt leaves behind his wife and 5 young children. Please consider being generous and making a donation to help support this family. Also keep them in your prayers. This is a tough time to not be able to gather with friends and family.
