PHOENIX – Phoenix Fire crews responded to the scene of a train derailment in downtown Phoenix that caused several rail cars to catch on fire. A Union Pacific train derailed box cars carrying plywood while leaving a rail yard.

Four rail cars were derailed and one caught fire near 9th Avenue and Buchanan Street at around 7:34 p.m.
