Four Illegal Migrants Rescued By Border Patrol Agents Near Yuma

YUMA – On Monday, with temperatures well over 100 degrees, Border Patrol agents rescued four illegal migrants. The migrants had been in the desert for multiple days and had run out of food and water.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), at approximately 12:10 a.m. on Monday, the Yuma Sector Operations Center received a forwarded 911 call from an individual who stated he was traveling in the desert with multiple individuals and they were in distress. Yuma Station and Wellton Station agents were immediately dispatched to the approximate area of the group.

The group of migrants was told to walk to a nearby U.S. Border Patrol rescue beacon and wait for assistance.

When agents located the group a short time later, the migrants said they were thirsty but otherwise in good health.

According to CBP, the four apprehended illegal migrants were expelled from the country under Title 42.
