Body Of Former MLB Player Accused Of Killing Ex-Girlfriend Found On South Rim

Former MLB pitcher Charlie Haeger was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Saturday. Haeger was wanted by Scottsdale Police on suspicion of murder and aggravated assault in shooting death of ex-girlfriend.

According to the Scottsdale Police Department, Haeger was accused of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend Friday evening at a residence on Via De Sonrisa, near Hayden Road and McCormick Parkway.

Haeger’s body was found along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon at approximately 4 p.m. His vehicle was found earlier Saturday afternoon near Flagstaff.

While in the MLB, Haeger played with the Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres. He also played in the minor leagues for the Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox.
