TUCSON – One man is dead, 19-year-old Eric Andres Martinez, and another is seriously injured after a shooting at a trailer park in midtown Tucson early on Friday morning.
According to the Tucson Police Department, on October 23, 2020, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers in the area of N. Stone Ave. and W. Prince Rd., heard several gunshots north of their location and immediately responded to the area in order to investigate. As officers approached the area, several people were seen running west from the trailer park located at 38 W. Prince Rd.
Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. The other male victim was located stumbling away from the scene. He was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives learned that Eric Martinez, accompanied by the other shooting victim, arrived to a trailer within the park in search of his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend. Eric and his acquaintance refused to leave one of the trailers and demanded to know where his ex-girlfriend was. Moments later, 23-year-old Bradley Joseph Williams, Eric’s ex-girlfriend, and 26-year-old Ricardo Fragoso arrived at the trailer in a pickup truck which was reported stolen.
As the three occupants of the pickup exited, Eric Martinez and his acquaintance confronted the three and attempted to rob them. Gunshots were fired, and both Martinez and his acquaintance were shot. Bradley Williams and Ricardo Fragoso fled after the shooting but were ultimately located by responding officers. After evidence was gathered and interviews were conducted, Bradley Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of theft of means of transportation and a probation violation. Ricardo Fragoso was charged with prohibited possessor, possession of methamphetamine for sale and other narcotics violations.
