Tucson Police Investigating Deadly Shooting In Midtown Strip Club

Tucson Police are investigating a shooting that took the life of Daniel Antonio Ortiz on Sunday morning in a midtown strip club.

According to the Tucson Police Department, on November 1, 2020, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at Ten’s Showclub, located at 5120 E. Speedway Blvd.

Officers found the 37-year-old Ortiz inside the establishment with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering and he was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.

Detectives interviewed several witnesses and located surveillance video that captured the shooting. In the video, the suspect is seen arriving at the establishment in a white passenger vehicle. The vehicle is described as a late 1990’s – early 2000’s four-door sedan with black wheels and a non-functioning driver side tail lamp.

The suspect, wearing a gray beanie, surgical mask, green striped polo shirt, sunglasses, gray sweat pants and blue latex gloves, momentarily falls before entering. Once inside, he immediately fires several shots from a firearm. Mr. Ortiz was the only person struck by gunfire, and no other injuries were reported. After the shots are fired, the suspect is seen leaving the establishment in the white passenger vehicle east on Speedway Blvd.

Detectives are actively following up on leads and are trying to determine what provoked the shooting. Anyone who has information is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
