Tucson Police Investigating Shooting Death After Suspected Drug Buy

TUCSON – Tucson Police are investigating the shooting death of Dale Joseph Riley that occurred on Halloween.

According to the Tucson Police Department, just after 7:00 p.m., on October 31, officers responded to the report of a single vehicle collision near E. 5th St. and N. 2nd Ave. While officer were on their way to the scene, the Department received an additional call stating the driver of the vehicle, Mr. Riley, had obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

Tucson Fire personnel attempted to render aid, however the 19-year-old Riley was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives believe this was not a random act. Through interviews conducted at the scene, detectives learned Riley was in the area prior to the shooting for a prearranged meeting. Detectives also located suspected narcotics in Riley’s vehicle. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
