Scottsdale Picks Walther To Serve As Interim Police Chief

Jeff Walther has been chosen to serve as Scottsdale Police Department’s interim police chief. Current Police Chief Alan Rodbell will retire Nov. 30.

Walther will serve while a national search and recruitment is conducted to select Rodbell’s replacement.

Walther retired from the Scottsdale Police Department as an assistant chief in 2018 after serving the department for 24 years. Walther will return from retirement to lead the department during the recruitment period, which is expected to take six to eight months.

Walther will not seek the permanent position.
