Armed Robbery Suspect With Ties To MS-13 Sought By La Paz County Sheriff

The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Joseph David Mata, an armed robbery suspect with ties to MS-13.

According to the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office, on December 1, at approximately 10:00 p.m., an armed robbery occurred at the Salome AZ Dollar General.

Mata left the scene, crashing his vehicle on Salome Rd near Milepost 31 in Maricopa County. Prior to law enforcement’s arrival, he left the scene. The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office believes Mata might have received injuries during the crash.

Mata is described as medium build 5’10”, 185lbs, dark eyes and shaved head. He has numerous tattoos, from his hands, arms, legs, and noticeably on his neck and chest. He has “bakers” tattooed on the back of his head. He has alleged ties to the both MS-13 and Mexican Mafia.

Mata is considered armed and dangerous. The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information on Mata’s whereabouts to contact Central Dispatch at 928-669-2281.
