TUCSON – A human smuggler driving a rental car with three illegal aliens in the trunk was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents near Sells, Arizona.
On Wednesday at about 5:00 p.m., Tucson Sector agents stopped the rental car for an immigration inspection on federal Route 20. During the encounter, they found three people hidden inside the sedan’s trunk. All three were Guatemalan nationals determined to be illegally present in the United States.
The unnamed U.S. citizen driver faces federal charges for human smuggling while the three illegal aliens will be processed for illegally entering the country, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
