Three Arrested For Shooting Death Of Tucson Quick Mart Clerk

Three men, David Adrian Olver, Isaias Gastelum-Arvizu, and Omar Tello-Fierros, are in custody for the fatal shooting of Quick Mart clerk, Toby Lee Uribe.

According to the Tucson Police Department, the fatal shooting occurred on Saturday morning on Tucson’s South Side.

On December 19, 2020, shortly before 5:00 a.m., Tucson Police officers were dispatched to the Quick Mart located at 6301 S. Park Ave. for the report of a check welfare on Mr. Uribe, an employee.

Officers responded and entered the business where they located Mr. Uribe with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. Tucson Fire Medics also responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

Detectives learned that Mr. Uribe was working at the store. Shortly before 3:00 a.m., the 19-year-old Gastelum-Arvizu and the 18-year-old Tello-Fierros entered the store. One of them forced open a beer cooler while the second pointed a firearm at Mr. Uribe. When they left the store, one of them left with merchandise, the other fired his weapon striking Mr. Uribe.

Serval hours after the shooting occurred, officers were dispatched to the intersection of S. Park Ave. and E. Benson Hwy. about a traffic collision. Once on scene, officers recognized that two of the passengers involved in the collision, Gastelum-Arvizu and Tello-Fierros, matched the description of the suspects from the Quick Mart shooting. Both of them and the driver, Olvera, were detained at the scene of the collision.

At the conclusion of their investigation detective’s charged all three suspects with one count of 1st-degree murder, armed robbery, aggravated robbery, and 1st-degree burglary. Mr. Olvera is also facing charges related to the traffic collision.
