Tucson Police Investigating Deadly South Side Shooting

TUCSON – Tucson Police are investigating a shooting that took the life of Roberto Martinez Rascon and left another in the hospital.

According to the Tucson Police Department, on December 20, 2020, just before 6:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to several reports of a shooting near the intersection of E. Mossman Rd. and S. Jeanette Blvd. When they arrived on the scene, officers found two men near the roadway with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering aid.

Tucson Fire personnel arrived to the scene and transported both victims to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Once at the hospital, Roberto, age 28, succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased.

Detectives believe a white four-door SUV was seen leaving the area after the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
