Prescott City Councilwoman Billie Orr Announces Resignation Citing Health Concerns

On Monday, Prescott City Councilwoman Billie Orr announced her intention to resign from the Council. Orr says her plan is to relocate from Prescott for health-related reasons.

Orr will vacate her seat on January 19th.

“After careful consideration, my husband Bob and I have decided that it would be in both of our best interests to leave our beloved Prescott and move to a locale with a lower altitude,” said Orr in a press release. “This was an extremely difficult decision, but the right one for us to make at this time.”

Prescott Mayor Greg Mengarelli said Orr “will be sorely missed.” Mengarelli called Orr’s service “awe-inspiring.”

Orr was first elected to Prescott City Council in 2015 and was reelected in 2019.

According to the City, procedures and plans to fill the vacancy on the Council will be announced at a later date.
