Republicans Are Ready For 2021

In 2020, the American people faced many unexpected battles: a phony impeachment trial, a virus sent to us from China, and unprecedented election shenanigans. As the chair of the Arizona Republican Party, I want to assure all lovers of liberty and patriotic Americans that we are also capable of facing the challenges ahead of us in 2021.

First, we have January 6th, when dozens of Republican U.S. House and Senate members will object to the electoral vote tally from several contested states. Democrats have mounted similar challenges in the past. In fact, in 2017, Arizona’s own Raúl Grijalva, the liberal Democrat Congressman from the southern part of our state, challenged the electoral tally for North Carolina in the 2016 election. Naturally, he was not pilloried in the press or social media for “sedition” or for trying to “destroy democracy.”

Once again, we are seeing the double standard play out in the media. Thankfully, 2020 helped expose this hypocrisy to the public. The American people no longer believe what the so-called mainstream media and ‘Big Tech’ are dishing out. Over the last several years, the extreme Left has been describing people who subscribe to their radical agenda as being “woke.” But what has really been awoken is a sleeping giant made up of the American working class.

In Arizona, the media are desperately trying to make sure people don’t notice that, despite huge influxes of Democrat out-of-state dark money, breaking all spending records in several state legislative races, Republicans maintained our majorities in the State House and the State Senate.

We held all four of our Republican U.S. House seats, in spite of the media’s failed predictions otherwise. The elites do not want you to know that we kept our Republican majority on the Arizona Corporation Commission, and that we picked up seats in other crucial down-ballot races – most notably the Maricopa County Recorder’s office.

I remain confident that same success would have been reflected at the top of the ticket for President and U.S. Senate if not for obvious cases of voter fraud. That is why I am continuing to fight for our state using every legal and political means available to ensure we restore integrity in our elections.

We are also gearing up for the battle ahead in 2021 on redistricting. Every 10 years, we change the boundaries of our state legislative and federal congressional districts, and this year it looks like Arizona will be awarded an additional U.S. House seat because of our growth in population. It’s important that our independent redistricting commission draw fair lines that ensure all Arizonans are equally and accurately represented.

Just as Democrats tried to use unprecedented early ballots to sway elections in 2020, they will attempt to use redistricting to try to create a decade of Democrat majorities by manipulating lines on the electoral map. Rest assured, we will be prepared.

This is not the time for American patriots to feel disheartened. In 1779, an American Naval Commander named John Paul Jones was asked by a British naval office to surrender at the Battle of Flamborough Head. Legend has it that Commander Jones answered, “I have not yet begun to fight!” Ultimately, after hours of intense combat, the British ship that had asked for Commander Jones’ surrender, surrendered itself.

Take heart, Arizona, for we too have only just begun to fight.
