Prescott Valley Teen Arrested After Striking Child With Car, Spitting on Police Officer

A Prescott Valley teen was taken into custody after striking a child riding a bike and spitting on a police officer.

According to the Prescott Valley Police Department, on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 13, an officer observed a reckless driver, 18-year-old Jordyn Shope, hit a child riding a bicycle in the crosswalk at Robert Road and Loos Drive.

The child fortunately suffered no injuries. The officer stopped and detained Shope, and found her to be driving on a suspended license with no car registration or insurance.

While officers investigated the incident, Shope was seated in the back seat of a patrol car. When her car was towed from the scene, Shope spit at the officers and did over $1000 damage to the patrol car. Shope was booked for felony criminal damage and misdemeanor reckless driving.
