Arizona National Guard Crew Rescues 3 Hikers Stranded In Freezing Sedona Area Canyon

A U-H 60 Blackhawk crew with the Arizona Army National Guard rescued three stranded climbers in snow covered Haribo Canyon in Sedona, Tuesday, January, 26, 2021.

An Arizona National Guard U-H 60 Blackhawk team rescued three stranded hikers above Haribo Canyon in Sedona on Tuesday.

The three hikers were out-of-town visitors,

Pilot U.S. Army Capt. Shannon Lancaster along with copilot Chief Warrant Officer Paul Duff, crew chiefs Staff Sgt. Karl Evans and Sgt. Jonathan Atcitty and medic Sgt. Javier Carrillo, hoisted up the climbers, who had spent over 48 hours in the freezing cold.

The Blackhawk crew flew the hikers to a command post where emergency responders transported them to a local hospital.
