A 23-year-old Glendale man is in critical condition after he allegedly charged a Glendale Police officer with a homemade spear.
The incident occurred near 59th and Northern avenues on Saturday at around 5:30 p.m.
According to the Glendale Police Department, a man now suspected to be the spear wielding man, called 911 and said he “wanted to shoot some cops.” The man claimed that he had a gun and wanted to “light some people up.”
When an officer arrived on the scene, he man pulled out his spear and made threats while charging at the officer. A second officer on the scene shot the man.
