Arizona House Honors Life And Legacy Of Rush Limbaugh

PHOENIX – On Tuesday, the Arizona House of Representatives honored Rush Limbaugh, an icon for conservatives, who passed away earlier this month after an extended battle with cancer.

Sponsored by Rep, David Cook (R-8), the proclamation commended the broadcasting giant for “his devotion to the country and inspiring millions to embrace conservative values and American principles.”

Limbaugh, who became a staple for the conservative movement in the US, was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame and the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

The popular radio show host, who is credited with saving AM radio, was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom during President Donald Trump’s 2020 State of the Union Address.

Legislative Proclamation:

Whereas, Rush Limbaugh was the syndicated radio host of “he Rush Limbaugh Show,” which premiered in 1988 and quickly became highest rated talk radio program, airing in nearly 600 stations reaching over 40 million people each week; and

Whereas, Rush Hudson Limbaugh III was born in 1951 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he developed his passion for broadcasting that eventually led to his enshrinement in the Radio Hall of Fame and the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame; and

Whereas, Rush Limbaugh was an unapologetic and influential conservative thought leader who, for decades promoted the exceptional principles and freedoms that gave rise to the greatest nation in the world, the United States of America; and

Whereas, Rush Limbaugh was an acclaimed author, including two New York Times best sellers, who helped raise and personally donate millions of dollars to charitable organizations, benefiting America’s military veterans and first responders; and

Whereas, President Donald Trump awarded Rush Limbaugh the Presidential Medal Of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, at the 2020 State of the Union Address; and

Whereas, Rush Limbaugh passed away on February 17, 2021, after a tough battle with cancer and

Therefore, I, representative David Cook, invite the members of the House of Representatives to honor the life and legacy of Rush Limbaugh; an ask that you please join me in commending Rush Limbaugh for his devotion to our country and for inspiring millions to enhance embrace conservative values and American principles.
