Missing Tucson Man Found Dead In Saguaro National Park West

TUCSON – A missing Tucson man, William Trotter, was found dead in Saguaro National Park West on Wednesday morning by Park staff.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, at 11:39 a.m., deputies were notified by the United States Park Service that a deceased male had been located in Saguaro National Park West. Search and Rescue deputies responded and were able to locate and identify the 78-year-old Mr. Trotter.

Earlier this month, Mr. Trotter was reported missing by friends, after not being seen for several days. On February 9th, 2021, based on the information deputies had received, Mr. Trotter was listed as a missing person.

Initial indications are Mr. Trotter’s death is not suspicious. However, the investigation is ongoing pending an autopsy.
