Tucson Suspect In Stabbing Death Arrested In Globe

On March 8, Tucson Police officers made an arrest in the stabbing death of 21-year-old Nicole Collins on March 7, at the Terrace Motel.

According to Tucson Police, on March 7, 2021, just after 12:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing at the Terrace Motel located at 631 W. Miracle Mile.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Ms. Collins with numerous lacerations and stab wounds. Officers immediately began rendering aid. Personnel from the Tucson Fire Department also responded and transported her to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Upon arrival to the hospital, Ms. Collins was pronounced deceased.

While conducting the investigation at the motel, a carjacking was reported in the area south of the motel to 9-1-1. Detectives have determined that 34-year-old Bruce Fairbanks Spring is responsible for the death of Ms. Collins and the carjacking.

A felony warrant was then obtained for the arrest of Spring for first degree homicide.

On March 8, at approximately 3:30 p.m., law enforcement officials with the Gila County Sheriff’s Department, Globe Police Department and Arizona Department of Public Safety located Spring in Globe, AZ. After a short pursuit, Spring was taken into custody.
