Public’s Help Sought To Identify Yavapai County Church Vandal

Seventh Day Adventist Church

Dewey – The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help catching the person responsible for vandalizing the Seventh Day Adventist Church Sanctuary. The incident happened sometime between 12:00 p.m. on April 17, 2021 and 9:30 a.m. on April 24, 2021 at the church located at 11850 Henderson Drive in Dewey, Arizona.

When deputies arrived at the church they observed several tire tracks on the exterior side of the sanctuary building. The tracks appeared to be an aggressive, knobby type tire, typically found on dirt bikes or similar off-road vehicles. The tracks are likely from the same tire. Inside the sanctuary, damage from the force of contact with the exterior wall were visible and substantial. This included structural and drywall damage. It is estimated the church will spend several thousand dollars for repairs.

Church officials indicate this damage was not seen during the last church service which was held April 17, 2021.

If anyone has information as to who is responsible for this damage, call the Sheriff’s Office at 928-771-3260 and refer to file 21-014019. You may also report a tip anonymously to Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 or online at yavapaisw.com.
