After Arizona State Sen. TJ Shope, a Republican out of Coolidge, joined with all Senate Democrats to kill a bill which would have banned businesses from requiring “vaccine passports, #shopemeyourpapers began trending on social media.
The bill, HB 2190, sponsored by Rep. Bret Roberts had become known as the “show me your papers please,” is a common phrase associated with police states.
The bill would have reserved fundamental medical privacy rights in so far as it would have prevented businesses to refuse service to an individual based solely on whether or not they had been vaccinated against COVID-19.
