Grand Jury Indicts Navarrete On 7 Counts Related To Child Sex Crimes

PHOENIX, AZ – A Maricopa County Grand Jury charged former Arizona State Sen. Tony Navarrete on seven counts related to allegations of child sex crimes. Navarrete, a two-term state senator from Legislative District 30 resigned on August 10, 2021.

Navarrete, a Democrat from Phoenix, was charged three counts of sexual conduct with a minor (Class 2 felony), two counts of sexual conduct with a minor (Class 6 felony), one count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor and one count of molestation of a child.

An Arraignment Hearing has been set in Maricopa County Superior Court for Friday, Aug. 20, 2021.
