The Payson Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying an armed man who confronted an employee at Payson High School Sunday morning. The employee was not harmed and was able to call 911.

The man left the building in a newer model white Toyota Tacoma with an unidentified woman, who is believed to be connected to the high school.

Police say they “have reason to believe that the female subject may be connected to the high school and that some who see this post will be able to assist in this investigation.”

Police say to keep in mind the vehicle may belong to a parent or uninvolved person.

If you see the subject or vehicle pictured below or have any information as to who this person, consider contacting the Payson Police Department at (928)474-3288.

“Initial indications are that this may have been a burglary attempt. With that said, we understand the concerns that any incident like this creates. We have been in close contact with PUSD Superintendent Linda Gibson and are always working hard to ensure the safety of our students,” the Department said in a Facebook post. “We will have extra officers assigned to the schools Monday morning. There is no indication of any threat to any Payson campus at this time.”
