Oh Thursday, Rep. Debbie Lesko fruitlessly called for the resignations of President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken after the chaos in Afghanistan left 13 U.S. servicemen dead.
“After numerous intelligence briefings and reviewing the situation on the ground, it is clear that someone must be held accountable for the chaos that has unfolded in Afghanistan and led to the loss of American lives. From the outset, it has been apparent that the Biden Administration had no plan for a safe and effective withdrawal of U.S. military personnel, American citizens, and Afghan allies from Afghanistan,” said Lesko in a press release.
Lesko said she consulted with Congressional colleagues “who served in Afghanistan” and studied the ongoing situation, before coming to the conclusion that “the issues unfolding could have been avoided and, in many cases.”
Lesko accused Biden of “poor decision-making” which she says “led to this chaos.”
“It’s time for a change in leadership before any more American lives are lost,” concluded Lesko. “I call for the immediate resignation of President Biden and Secretary of State Blinken.”
Should Biden resign, which is highly unlikely, he would be replaced by Vice-President Kamala Harris.
